Frequently Asked Questions
1. What kind of church is this?
It is the kind of church that dreams of reaching out to unchurched people in our community with an innovative approach that uses contemporary music, drama, multimedia, and practical messages. It is a church where you can love and be loved, know and be known, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated.
2. What should I wear?
The dress code at Highlands Community Church is different than most churches. People are encouraged to come dressed comfortably. We enjoy a casual atmosphere at Highlands.
3. How long will the service last?
The Sunday Celebration Service typically will last about 90 minutes.
4. What will the services be like?
During the Sunday Celebration Service, drama, multi‑media, contemporary music and practical messages are used to present the timeless truths of the Bible at a level easily understood.
5. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?
You can rest assured that you will never be put on the spot, never singled out, never embarrassed. If you are a guest, you will be encouraged not to feel obligated to give financially. We hope you will let the service be our gift to you. The financial support of our church is the responsibility of our members and those who consider Highlands Community Church to be their church home. As our guest, we only ask that you complete your Welcome Card ‑ found in your bulletin. Please place the completed welcome card in the offering basket at the end of service. You won't be pressured to sign anything else unless you place your child for care in our children's ministry, and then for security reasons, we have to get some basic information.
6. What about my kids‑do they come in with me or is there something going on for them?
Our children's program provides a caring, quality experience for infants through six years simultaneously with our services. Your child will receive high levels of attention while having fun and learning.
